Job Description:

Must have experiences

• 1+ Yrs of experience with Ruby on Rails
• 3+ years of Web development experience
• Experience with REST based web services
• Deployment (Capistrano) experience
• Basic web languages & technologies: HTML/DHTML/CSS/Javascript
• Cross-browser compatibility
• Rails-brand Ajax (assuming comfort with Prototype/Scriptaculous)
• Good understanding of HTTP (requests and headers, statuses, HTTPS, etc)
• Experience with web/app/db server setups (Apache/Mongrel a bonus)
• ORM with ActiveRecord and SQL (specifically MySQL)
• Development concepts: REST, MVC, SCM (SVN)
• Experience with API-based web services
• On-line checkout/financial processing (e.g. Google Checkout, PayPal)

Optional experiences

• A big plus: experience with AWS (we heavily use S3, EC2, and SQS)
• Experience with Java and Hadoop

Educational Requirements

• Computer Science or related Degree

Demonstrably impressive experience is a must. We’re ready to drop you in, so, besides the understandable integration/ramp-up period, we need you to be prepared for productive work out the gate. Involvement in and contributions to the Rails community would be highly regarded; references and coding samples are necessary.
